Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 October 2025

Postal Code Netherlands (the “App”) is designed with privacy by default. We do not collect, store, or share personal data about you. The App performs lookups directly in your browser and does not require creating an account or submitting personal information.

1. Who is the data controller?

The data controller for the App is:

Vincent Kuhlmann
Utrecht, Netherlands
Email: apps@vkuhlmann.com

2. What data do we collect?

None. We do not collect or process personal data. The App does not use analytics, advertising technologies, tracking pixels, or profiling.

3. Cookies and local storage

The App does not use cookies or similar tracking technologies (such as local storage) for identifying or tracking users.

4. Third‑party services and standard log data

To provide map and geospatial functionality, your device may connect directly to third‑party public services (for example, governmental mapping or geocoding services) to fetch tiles or search results. When your browser requests such resources, those third parties may receive standard technical information (e.g., IP address, user agent, date/time) in their server logs. We do not receive or store that data, and we do not combine it with any other information.

Please review the privacy information of those providers for details about their processing. Where possible, requests are made directly from your browser to the provider; we do not proxy or enrich those requests.

5. Legal bases

Because we do not collect personal data, no processing operations are performed by us that require a legal basis under Article 6 GDPR. Any minimal, transient processing performed by third‑party infrastructure (e.g., server logs) is carried out by those parties under their own legal bases (often legitimate interests in ensuring security and service integrity).

6. Data retention

We retain no personal data because we do not collect any.

7. International data transfers

We do not transfer personal data internationally because we do not collect any personal data. Third‑party providers you contact directly may operate infrastructure in various jurisdictions; please refer to their policies for details.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR, individuals have rights such as access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, data portability, and the right not to be subject to automated decision‑making. As we do not process personal data, these rights are generally not engaged. If you believe this App is processing your personal data in any way, please contact us using the details above and we will respond promptly.

9. Complaints

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the EU/EEA member state of your habitual residence, place of work, or place of the alleged infringement. A list of supervisory authorities is available from the European Data Protection Board: edpb.europa.eu.

10. Children’s privacy

The App is a general‑audience service. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Security

We aim to serve the App over secure connections (HTTPS). Since we don’t store personal data, the security scope is limited to protecting application integrity and transport.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. We will indicate the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If we ever introduce features that involve personal data, we will update this policy before enabling such features.
